It's worth noting that Google is due to end the free unlimited photo storage in Google Photos from June 1 2021. Just click on the album and then click in the name of the album at the top to edit it, then click the blue tick in the top left-hand corner to save the new name. You can rename your albums in Google Photos if you don’t want to keep the Copy of… naming format. But once complete, you’ll see your Facebook albums added to the albums in your Google Photos, named Copy of… while individual photos you posted directly to your Facebook timeline will be added to your Google photos in chronological order. If you’ve got a large photo library on Facebook, it will take some time. You’ll be taken back to Facebook, where you should click Confirm transfer. Click Next and you’ll be taken to the Google login screen.Ĭlick on your Google account, then click Allow on the next screen. You've got a choice of four external services you can export your photos to: Koofr, Backblaze, Dropbox and Google Photos.Ĭlick Google Photos and then on the next screen choose whether you want to transfer your photos or your videos from Facebook.

You’ll have to enter your Facebook password on the next screen, then on the screen that follows click Choose destination from the dropdown menu. On the next screen, click T ransfer a copy of your photos or videos. On the next screen, click Your Facebook information in the left-hand panel. Go to Facebook and click the down arrow at the far right of the blue bar across the top of the page, then click Settings from the drop-down menu.
It’s easy to do, but only on a computer: you can’t do this in the mobile app. Now you can have the best of both worlds, and back up your photos and albums on Facebook to Google Photos.
